Inventory No: 0192
Serial No: AYO 4665

Bigger Image (36191 bytes)

A PDP-11/23 in a floor-mount case.  One of the RX50 disk drive doors is open showing the unique design of these drives.  5¼ inch floppy diskettes were delicate and with the more usual design of drive it was quite easy to fold, crease and thus destroy the diskette when inserting it.  With this design, such damage was less common.

The same machine with the front cover removed.  At the top, the control panel has lights for RUN and DC OK, then HALT, RESTART, READY and WRITE PROTECT buttons.  The latter inhibits writes to fixed disk 0.
